Ep 2. Co-Op

Abbi and Ilana are back in the third season of Broad City with even more hilariously inappropriate adventures. In Co-Op, the second episode of the season, Abbi and Ilana discover the joys and woes of the cooperative movement as they work to buy weed from a co-op grocery store.

At the beginning of the episode, Abbi and Ilana are in need of some serious green. But despite their inner circle of dealers, no one seems to have any bud. In a stroke of luck, they overhear a guy on the street telling his friend about the co-op grocery store that sells pot. After a quick internet search, they find the place and head over to see if they can score.

Their adventure begins when they enter the store and are bombarded by the sights, sounds, and smells of the co-op. A group of hippies is gathered at the front, singing a song about the benefits of organic food. Abbi and Ilana nervously make their way through the produce section, avoiding the piercing stares of the shoppers who seem to be able to sense their outsider status.

When they finally make it to the back of the store to inquire about the weed, they're surprised to find that they must become members of the co-op before they can buy anything. This requires a $300 investment and a vote from the existing members, who seem to take their co-op duties very seriously. Abbi and Ilana are hesitant, but with no other options, they decide to give it a shot.

What follows is a series of hilarious mishaps as they try to convince the co-op members that they're worthy of being included in their inner circle. They volunteer at the store, attend meetings, and even try to bribe the members with homemade mac and cheese. While their efforts are mostly unsuccessful, they do manage to meet some interesting characters along the way, including a flirty guy who wants to smoke weed with them and an older member who takes a liking to Ilana.

Throughout their journey, Abbi and Ilana manage to keep their sense of humor and their friendship intact, even through the most absurd and uncomfortable situations. And while they may not have gotten what they came for, they do learn a valuable lesson about the power of community and the importance of working together.

Co-Op is a hilarious and insightful look at the cooperative movement and the lengths that people will go to in order to get what they want. Abbi and Ilana's antics are sure to keep viewers laughing out loud from start to finish.
