Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040 takes place in Japan in the near future. Society has evolved to a point at which advanced robots are doing most of the country's labor. A young office worker named Linna realized that one of these robots has gone rogue, but it doesn't look like the actual police force are ready to handle the threat. In comes a group of special warriors who are made up of a storeowner, a computer hacker and a rock star who are ready to take on the difficult task of fighting off rogue Boomer robots and restoring the peace to the Tokyo metropolitan area.
