Ep 7. Condo Dreams

Jonathan and Drew Scott are back to take on another renovation challenge in the latest episode of Property Brothers: Buying and Selling. In this episode titled "Condo Dreams," the twin brothers are tasked with helping a young couple find the perfect new home that meets all of their needs and renovating their current condo to sell.

The couple, Maya and Eric, have outgrown their current living space and are looking for a larger home that is closer to their jobs. They also want a property that has a backyard for their dogs and a room for a future child. Eric is a scientist who works in the city, while Maya is a nurse who wants to be able to get to work easily. Meanwhile, Jonathan takes on the challenge of renovating their condo. The couple wants to get the most money they can for their current living space, so Jonathan has to make it look stunning while sticking to their tight budget of $90,000. The condo is in a great location but needs a lot of work. The outdated appliances and finishes, as well as a poorly designed layout, make it unappealing to buyers.

Jonathan starts by removing a wall that divides the living room and kitchen to make the space more open and airy. He adds new countertops, cabinets, and appliances to the kitchen, bringing it up to modern standards. He removes the old carpet and replaces it with new hardwood floors throughout the whole place. He also updates the bathroom with new fixtures and tiles. Lastly, he transforms the weirdly shaped den into a beautiful, functional room that can be used as an office or bedroom.

As the renovation comes close to completion, the couple sees their newly renovated condo and are blown away by how amazing it looks. They say it looks like a model suite and are confident that it will sell quickly and for their desired price. Jonathan pushes for a higher asking price, and they ultimately list it for $599,000.

Meanwhile, Drew helps Maya and Eric close on their dream home. They work quickly to get their new home move-in ready before the closing date. Drew brings in a team of designers and contractors to do a complete gut renovation of the kitchen, replace the outdated carpet with hardwood floors, and update the home's overall aesthetics. They also create a beautiful backyard oasis for the couple's dogs that includes an artificial turf area and a fire pit.

In the end, the couple is thrilled with their new home and Jonathan's renovation of their condo. They receive multiple offers for the condo, and while they don't get quite what they were asking for, they are still very happy with the selling price. The young couple can finally focus on starting their family in their new, perfect home.
