Card Captor Sakura Season 1 Episode 19 Sakura and the Summer Vacation Homework

  • September 1, 1998

Sakura Kinomoto is a fourth-grader, who returned from school to continue with her summer vacation. She is delighted that she has no homework and looks forward to spending time with her friends Tomoyo Daidouji and Syaoran Li. But her brother, Toya Kinomoto, reminds her of her summer homework that she has not completed yet.

Sakura frowns as she realizes that she still has to finish her summer assignments. Toya advises her to finish the work as soon as possible so that she can enjoy the rest of her vacation. Sakura couldn't agree more with Toya, so she sets out to complete the exercises the same day.

Sakura has several subjects to cover, and she decides to start with the hardest subject. The first one she picks up is mathematics, where she has to solve complicated problems. Sakura frowns as she attempts the first puzzle, which seems like an impossible equation to solve.

After several attempts, Sakura gets frustrated and gives up. Tomoyo visits her house and encourages her to take a break and resume later when she feels fresh. Tomoyo suggests that they go to the aquarium, and Sakura agrees.

Sakura and Tomoyo head to the aquarium, where they see different types of fish, dolphins, and different sea animals. Sakura's spirits lift as she sees the sea creatures, and she starts to feel refreshed. However, she feels guilty and remembers that she has to study and finish her summer homework.

After returning from the aquarium, Sakura starts to work on her history and science assignments, which she completes with relative ease. She does the geography exercise with ease, but the math problems still trouble her.

The next day, Sakura's friend Syaoran visits her, and they begin working on the summer math exercises together. Syaoran easily solves the problems, but Sakura is still struggling. They work together until nightfall, but Sakura still isn't able to solve the puzzle.

Syaoran decides to leave, and Sakura is left feeling discouraged. She looks up at the night sky and sees the Plieades stars, also known as the Seven Sisters. She remembers an old folktale told by her father, that the stars' light could grant her wishes. She closes her eyes and wishes that she could solve the last math problem.

When she opens her eyes, she finds an unfamiliar book beside her. The book is titled "Mathematics for Dummies," and she sees that it has an answer key for the last problem. Sakura realizes that the magic book must have been given to her by the cards, and starts to believe in her powers more and more.

Sakura flips through the book and realizes that there are more answers for other math problems she had been struggling with. She runs over to Tomoyo's house to show her the book, and they both celebrate. Sakura calls Syaoran and invites him over to show him the book's contents.

When Syaoran arrives, Sakura and Tomoyo show him the book, and Syaoran smiles. He reveals that he had the same book with him the previous day but didn't share it as he wanted Sakura to concentrate and solve the problems by herself.

Sakura thanks Syaoran for being a good friend and for helping her, and the three friends enjoy the rest of their summer vacation together happy and proud of the teamwork they showed.
