Meanwhile, it is revealed that the mysterious phenomenon is caused by Sakura's mother's spirit, which is trying to communicate with Sakura. Sakura and her friends are sucked into a strange world where they encounter a strange creature, which turns out to be a manifestation of Sakura's mother's memories. Sakura's mother speaks through the creature, revealing that she had to give up her powers as a cardcaptor to become a mother and that she is proud of Sakura for taking up the mantle.

Sakura is emotional after hearing her mother's words, but she realizes that she has to return to the real world. The creature disappears, and Sakura and her friends find themselves back in the real world. Kero explains that Sakura's mother's magic was protecting Tomoeda all along, and that Sakura's newfound confidence and resolve will be crucial in capturing the rest of the Clow Cards.

In the end, Sakura and her father go to pay their respects at her mother's grave. Sakura places the photo of her mother holding her as a baby on the grave and promises to become a great cardcaptor in her mother's memory.
