Cash Cab Season 1 Episode 3 Episode 3

Cash Cab is a game show that takes place in a New York City taxi cab. In each episode, unsuspecting passengers get into the cab and are surprised to find out that they are actually contestants on the show. Host Ben Bailey asks them trivia questions as he drives them to their destination. If they get the questions right, they win money. If they get three questions wrong, they are kicked out of the cab and have to find their own way home.

Episode 3 of season 1 starts off with Ben cruising through the streets of New York City, looking for his next passengers. He spots a couple on the sidewalk and pulls over to pick them up. The couple is excited to get into the cab and play the game. They introduce themselves as Frank and Melissa.

Ben starts off with some easy questions to warm them up. He asks what the name of the planet is that we live on and what color the sky is. They both answer correctly and Ben moves on to the first level of difficulty. He asks what the acronym "NYPD" stands for and Frank answers "New York Police Department" without hesitation.

As they drive through the busy streets of Manhattan, Ben continues to ask questions. The questions get progressively harder as they move up levels. They have the opportunity to ask for help twice by "shouting out" a question to someone on the street. They also have a "Mobile Shoutout" which allows them to use their phone a friend option.

As they reach the second level, the questions get a bit trickier. Ben asks them how many states start with the letter 'A'. Frank is confident in his answer of four, but Melissa is less sure. They decide to use their "Mobile Shoutout" and call a friend. Their friend confirms that there are indeed four states that start with 'A' (Alaska, Alabama, Arizona, and Arkansas).

The third level is the final round and the questions are very difficult. Ben asks them what the official currency of Sweden is. Frank thinks for a moment and answers "Krona". Ben is impressed with his knowledge and they move on to the bonus question.

The bonus question is worth $200 and is a sports question. Ben asks them what team won the 2006 Super Bowl. They both look puzzled for a moment before Frank blurts out "The Pittsburgh Steelers!" Ben is impressed with their quick thinking and awards them the bonus money.

As they pull up to their destination, Ben tells them that they have won a total of $690. They are ecstatic and thank Ben for the ride. As they get out of the cab, Ben turns to the camera and says goodbye to the viewers. Another successful game of Cash Cab has come to an end.
