Yuzu Aihara and Mei Aihara are half-sisters who have just recently met. Their relationship already has its ups and downs, but things seem to be getting serious in the 11th episode of Citrus season 1. "Love You Only" takes the audience through a whirlwind of emotions as Yuzu and Mei navigate their feelings for each other.
The episode begins with Yuzu and Mei on a date in town. They seem to be having a good time together, laughing and exploring the sights. Yuzu is trying to make sense of her feelings for Mei, wondering if what she is feeling is love. Mei seems stony-faced as usual, so it's hard for Yuzu to gauge her emotions.
As they walk through the busy streets, they come across a street performer. The performer is singing about love and it seems to resonate with Yuzu. She begins to realize that she is falling for Mei and that her feelings for her are deeper than she ever imagined.
The two of them head back to the Aihara mansion where Matsuri Mizusawa, a girl from Yuzu's past, is waiting for them. Matsuri has feelings for Yuzu and is jealous of the time that she is spending with Mei. Her presence creates a tense atmosphere, which is further compounded when Mei announces that she will be leaving for a business trip the next day.
Yuzu is crushed by the news and feels like she has barely had enough time to explore her feelings for Mei. Mei seems equally distant and it's unclear if she reciprocates Yuzu's feelings. Yuzu is left alone with her thoughts and emotions, and it seems like her heart is in a state of turmoil.
The next day, Yuzu visits her mother at her workplace. Her mother is supportive of Yuzu and tries to give her advice on her relationship with Mei. Yuzu's younger sister, Harumi, also stops by the workplace and they all have a heart-to-heart conversation about love.
As the day wears on, Yuzu starts to feel better about herself and her emotions. She realizes that her love for Mei is real and that it's okay to feel these feelings. She rushes home to get her feelings off of her chest, but Matsuri is waiting for her at the door.
Matsuri confesses her feelings to Yuzu and asks her to be her girlfriend. Yuzu is completely taken aback and doesn't know how to respond. She tells Matsuri that she needs time to think about it and rushes upstairs to be alone.
Yuzu tries to sort through her emotions and figure out how she really feels about Mei and Matsuri. She is torn between the two and doesn't know what to do. Eventually, Matsuri comes up to talk to her again and Yuzu tells her that she cannot be her girlfriend, as she is in love with someone else.
Mei returns from her business trip and Yuzu decides that it's time to confess her feelings to her. She gathers up all of her courage and tells Mei that she loves her. Mei seems taken aback by this and doesn't know how to respond. However, she takes Yuzu's hand and the two of them share a moment of tenderness.
"Love You Only" is a powerful episode that takes the audience through a wide range of emotions. Yuzu's journey of self-discovery and her exploration of her feelings is both relatable and heartwarming. Mei's aloofness and Matsuri's jealousy add a layer of complexity to the episode, leaving the audience wondering what will happen next. Overall, this episode is a must-watch for fans of romantic drama and anime alike.
