In this episode Penguipocalypse, Flint Lockwood, the wacky inventor, and his friend Sam Sparks, the weather reporter, are back again with their latest invention, a Freeze-O-Matic that can freeze anything it touches. They are eager to try it out on everything in sight, from hot dogs to hailstones.
Meanwhile, on the island of Swallow Falls, a group of penguins from a nearby ship have washed up on the shores and taken up residence in the town. The penguins are cute and friendly at first, but gradually they begin to overtake the town. They slide down the streets, sneak into houses, and steal food from the residents.
Flint and Sam soon discover that the penguins are up to no good, as they are actually trying to build a giant igloo to protect themselves from the impending disaster that is about to strike Swallow Falls. The fearless duo sets out to stop the penguins before it's too late.
As they investigate, Flint and Sam find out that the penguins' igloo is being built on a giant fault line, and that if they continue, the entire town will be destroyed. They try to reason with the penguins, but the penguins refuse to listen, and insist that their igloo is the only way to save themselves.
With time running out, Flint and Sam turn to their Freeze-O-Matic for help. They use it to freeze the penguins in place and prevent them from continuing their construction. But their troubles are only beginning as they now have to deal with a frozen town and a group of angry penguins who don't take kindly to being frozen.
In the end, Flint and Sam come up with a clever plan to thaw out the town and the penguins. They succeed in saving Swallow Falls just in the nick of time and the penguins realize that by working together with the residents, they can help each other.
Penguipocalypse is a fun and exciting episode of Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs season 2, with plenty of action, adventure, and lovable penguins that are sure to win over viewers of all ages.
