As the CZW faithful prepare themselves for the annual Prelude to Violence event, tensions are running high. This year's installment promises to be a true showcase of extreme wrestling, with some of the most talented and hard-hitting wrestlers on the independent scene set to compete in a variety of brutal matches.
The night's main event sees CZW World Heavyweight Champion Biff Busick take on his longtime rival "The Bulldozer" Matt Tremont in a no-holds-barred, weapons-filled brawl. Both men are known for their willingness to put their bodies on the line, and with the championship on the line and a score to settle, this promises to be a match for the ages.
In addition to the championship match, there are several other high-stakes bouts scheduled for the night. The Tag Team Titles are on the line as The Juicy Product (David Starr & JT Dunn) take on The Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson) in what is sure to be an incredible display of athleticism and innovation. Meanwhile, in a bout that promises to be equal parts technical and brutal, Drew Gulak and Chris Dickinson square off in a one-on-one contest that may well steal the show.
But it's not just about the established stars - CZW is also renowned for giving up-and-coming talent a platform to shine, and this year's Prelude to Violence is no exception. The Student vs. Teacher match between Joey Janela and Mike Bailey is a perfect example of this, with Janela looking to prove himself against his mentor in a match where anything goes. Then there's the Six-Man Scramble, which features six of CZW's most promising young stars in a frenetic, high-flying showcase.
Of course, the real draw of CZW is the extreme element, and there's no shortage of that in store. The Ultraviolent Open Challenge has become a staple of CZW events, and this time around it's Devon Moore who is putting his body on the line against whoever comes out to challenge him. Meanwhile, in a Barbed Wire Boards match, Danny Havoc and Lucky 13 will attempt to outdo each other in a match that is sure to leave both competitors bloodied and battered.
As always with CZW, the action is intense and the risk factor is high. Fans of extreme wrestling will not want to miss Prelude to Violence 2014, a night that promises to deliver the kind of hardcore action that only CZW can provide.
