As soon as Lord Akbari hears about this, he decides to kill Sinbad's brother right in front of him as punishment. Once this happens, Sinbad decides to leave his birthplace and plans to never come back. His grandmother finds out about his escape, she uses a magic talisman as a curse against Sinbad for the death of his brother. Sinbad later discovers that he is unable to stay on land any more than a single day. If he stays on land more than a day, then the talisman will choke him to death.
