The Gumby Show was a clay animated program which aired on the NBC television network starting in 1955. The series starred Gumby, a long, green humanoid creature and his friend Pokey, a talking, orange pony. Many episodes involved getting into scrapes with Gumby's archnemeses, the Blockheads. The series became a prime example of clay animation techniques while Gumby turned into an American icon.
