The Gumby Show was a beloved stop-motion animated children's television series that aired from 1956 to 1969. Created and produced by Art Clokey, the show featured a green, clay humanoid character named Gumby and his faithful pony pal, Pokey. Each episode typically followed Gumby and Pokey on their various adventures, often encountering other fanciful creatures along the way. The show utilized a unique stop-motion animation technique where each frame was shot individually, making the characters appear to move fluidly when the frames were played in sequence.

Art Clokey provided the voice for Gumby, while Chuck McCann voiced Pokey. Other voice actors included Bobby Nicholson, who played the villainous Blockheads, and Ginny Tyler, who voiced numerous female characters throughout the series. Dick Beals, a prolific voice actor and radio announcer, also made frequent appearances on the show.

One notable aspect of The Gumby Show was its use of music. The show featured original songs written by Art Clokey and his wife, Ruth, which were performed by a small children's choir. The catchy tunes often underscored the action onscreen and helped to make the show even more memorable.

The show's popularity led to numerous tie-in products, including toys, books, and clothing. Gumby and Pokey became iconic characters in their own right, and both have since become staples of popular culture.

Despite ending its original run in 1969, The Gumby Show remains a beloved piece of children's television history. Its unique animation style and charming characters have inspired numerous imitators over the years, but the original series still holds a special place in the hearts of many fans.

The Gumby Show is a series that ran for 3 seasons (76 episodes) between and on DMGI
