Conan O'Brien had explored various parts of the world while filming his travel show "Conan Without Borders". In the ninth episode of its first season, the host traveled to Italy to discover its rich history, culture, and lifestyle.

Conan started his Italian journey in Naples, where he met up with his old friend Jordan Schlansky, who is known for his extensive knowledge of Italian culture and cuisine. Jordan took Conan to the streets of Naples for an Italian-style breakfast, which included coffee and a variety of sweet and savory delicacies like sfogliatelle and zeppole.

After breakfast, Conan and Jordan wandered around the streets of Naples, which boasts of beautiful architecture, buildings, and statues. They also visited the underground tunnels of the city that were used centuries ago for protecting the city from invaders. Later, Conan and Schlansky visited the Neapolitan Museum where they were given a tour of the historical artifacts and treasures.

Interestingly, Conan and Jordan’s next stop on the tour was a soccer game between Naples and Inter Milan. While Jordan was excited about the match, Conan showed no interest in soccer and seemed more concerned about the security measures at the stadium.

Conan's next destination in Italy was Florence, where he visited the oldest working pharmacy, Santa Maria Novella. Conan was amazed by the extensive collection of soaps, creams, and candles. He even tried a perfume that was typically used by the Medici family in the 16th century.

Next up for Conan was an interview with fashion designer Roberto Cavalli. The two discussed Italian fashion and the uniqueness of the fashion industry in Italy. Conan also got to try on a suit that Cavalli designed especially for him.

Later, Conan met up with Italian actress Valeria Golino, who introduced him to the world of olive oil. Conan was surprised to learn that olive oil isn't just an ingredient, but a lifestyle for many Italians. Golino also introduced Conan to the world of truffles and took him on a truffle hunt.

Conan's final stop on his Italian tour was Rome. In Rome, he visited the Vatican and met with Archbishop Vincenzo Paglia who showed him around the historic site. Conan learned about the artwork and architecture of the Vatican and Vatican City.

Conan and Schlansky later met up with The Mayor of Rome Ignazio Marino, who greeted them with a bunch of flowers. The three had a hilarious conversation about Italian politics and Conan joked that he wanted to run for mayor of Rome.

Conan Without Borders season 1 episode 9 was an exciting and humorous take on Italy's lifestyle, culture, and history. Conan explored the streets of Naples, soccer games, historical museums, Florentine perfumeries, and Vatican City. This episode was a perfect mix of traveling and humor in the typical Conan way.
