Watch Cordon

Cordon is a gripping Belgian drama series, originally airing from 2014 to 2016 on VTM. It follows the chaos that ensues when a deadly virus outbreak hits the city of Antwerp, leading to the government quarantining a section of the city in order to contain the spread. As tensions mount and resources grow scarce, a small group of survivors must band together in order to survive, all while dealing with their own personal demons and conflicts.

One of the main characters is Geert Van Rampelberg as Sam, a police officer and father who finds himself trapped inside the cordoned-off area with his daughter. He must balance his duty to protect the citizens with his desire to keep his daughter safe, all while navigating the politics and danger of the quarantine zone.

Greet Verstraete plays Suzy, a young mother who is also stuck inside the zone with her infant child. Suzy is often used as a symbol of hope and resilience, as she refuses to give up despite the dire circumstances.

Hugo Van Den Berghe brings a complex portrayal to the character of Bert, a high-ranking government official tasked with managing the quarantine effort. Though he starts off strong and confident, his leadership is tested as the situation spirals out of control.

Johan Van Assche plays Dr. Cannaerts, a medical professional who begins to unravel as he sees the virus claim more and more victims. Koen De Sutter appears as Gryspeerts, a journalist who finds himself in the thick of the action as he investigates the outbreak and attempts to report on it from inside the quarantine zone.

Liesa Van Der Aa plays Jana, a rebellious teenager caught in the quarantine with her boyfriend Bram, portrayed by Mathijs Scheepers. Mieke De Groote takes on the role of Sabine Lommers, a health official who is tasked with identifying and containing the virus.

Ricko Otto plays Tyl, a notorious criminal who has been locked up inside the quarantined area. Despite his violent tendencies, he manages to find a sort of redemption as he works with the other survivors to stay alive.

Sven De Ridder appears as Nald, a former soldier who lends his training and expertise to the group. Tom Dewispelaere plays Lex Faes, a wealthy businessman who struggles to adapt to the harsh realities of the situation.

Finally, Veerle Baetens plays Katja, a doctor who helps shoulder the burden of treating the sick and dying. Wouter Hendrickx rounds out the cast as Jokke Deelen, a construction worker who finds himself thrust into a leadership role as the survivors struggle to stay alive.

Throughout the series, the tension never lets up as the group of survivors struggles to keep hope alive in the face of seemingly insurmountable odds. With strong performances from the entire cast, Cordon is a thrilling and emotional ride that will keep audiences on the edge of their seats until the very end.
