Defying Gravity is a science fiction television series that premiered in 2009. As they prepare to depart, the Antares crew discovers a stowaway onboard – a young woman named Paula Morales, who claims to be a journalist following the mission. Her sudden appearance creates more tension among the already stressed-out crew, and they must quickly decide whether to let her remain aboard or jettison her back to the space station.

The episode ends with the crew preparing to embark on the next leg of their journey, towards Mars. As they float through space, we see glimpses of the personal lives of each of the crew members – their families, their pasts, and the secrets they carry with them. There is a sense of excitement and wonder, but also a sense of impending danger as we are left with a cliffhanger that will leave viewers eager for the next episode.
