Ep 1. Nopeming Sanatorium

In season 2 episode 1 of Destination Fear, the team sets out to investigate Nopeming Sanatorium in Duluth, Minnesota. The sanatorium was originally built in 1912 to treat tuberculosis patients, but it later became a treatment center for mentally ill patients, most notably those suffering from severe cases of schizophrenia. It was eventually shut down in 2002, and has since become a popular site for paranormal enthusiasts.

As the team arrives at the sprawling, dilapidated complex, they immediately feel a sense of unease. The main building is over 200,000 square feet and has over 100 rooms, many of which are still filled with abandoned medical equipment and personal belongings. Even in broad daylight, the building is shrouded in an eerie silence that seems to amplify the slightest sound.

As they begin their investigation, the team splits up to cover as much ground as possible. Dakota, Chelsea, and Tanner make their way to the nursing home portion of the complex, where they immediately encounter strange noises and unexplained shadows. They also find several rooms that seem to be frozen in time, with beds still made and personal belongings left behind.

Meanwhile, Alex and River head to the pathology lab, where they discover a collection of human tissue samples and old medical records. As they explore deeper into the lab, they begin to feel a sense of dread and hear strange whispering sounds.

As the night wears on, the team sets up several cameras and recording devices to capture any evidence of paranormal activity. They conduct several EVP sessions, during which they ask questions and listen for responses from any spirits that may be present. They also use a laser grid and thermal imaging camera to detect any movement in the area.

Throughout the episode, the team experiences several chilling moments, including doors slamming shut on their own, unexplained cold spots, and strange voices captured on audio. They also hear a constant knocking sound that seems to follow them wherever they go.

Despite their fear and the overwhelming feeling of being watched, the team continues their investigation into the early morning hours. They hope that their evidence will help shed light on the mysterious and haunting history of Nopeming Sanatorium, and perhaps provide some comfort to the spirits that still roam its halls.

In the end, the team emerges from the sanatorium shaken but determined to continue their search for answers. They know that their investigation into the paranormal is far from over, and they cannot wait to see what other haunted locations await them on their journey.
