The Doctor and Martha find themselves on the planet of Krop Tor, a world hovering on the edge of a black hole. They soon discover that there is a scientific station on the planet that is studying the black hole, which is experiencing some distress. The Doctor offers to help the scientists, but he soon realizes that there is something more sinister going on.
The scientists at the station are drilling into the planet's core in an attempt to harness the energy from the black hole, but they have unwittingly set off a chain reaction that will cause the entire planet to explode in a matter of hours. The Doctor and Martha must work quickly to stop the drill and save the planet from certain destruction.
As they explore the station, the Doctor and Martha encounter a group of Ood, the peaceful humanoid creatures that serve as slaves for the humans on the station. The Ood seem to be behaving strangely, however, and the Doctor suspects that they are being controlled by an outside force.
As the countdown to the planet's destruction continues, the Doctor and Martha race against time to shut down the drill and break the mind control that is influencing the Ood. In the process, they uncover a dark secret about the station's commander, a man who will stop at nothing to achieve his goals, even if that means sacrificing the lives of everyone on the planet.
With the clock ticking down and the stakes higher than ever before, the Doctor and Martha embark on a thrilling adventure to save a world from certain doom. As always, they must use their wits, their courage, and their unshakable bond to overcome the challenges they face and emerge victorious in the face of incredible danger.
In the end, the Doctor and Martha emerge triumphant, having saved the planet and exposed the treachery of those who would do anything to achieve their own ends.
