Dora the Explorer season 2 episode 15, titled "The Festival of the Big Piñata", follows Dora and her monkey friend Boots as they embark on a colorful adventure to celebrate a Mexican tradition. The episode starts with the characters finding out that it is the day of the Big Piñata Festival, which is hosted by the town's mayor. Dora and Boots are eager to attend and take part in the festival's many activities.

As they arrive at the festival, Dora and Boots are greeted by the sound of lively music and the colorful decorations that seem to take over the entire town. The pair eventually make it to the town square, where they encounter the mayor who fills them in on the day's festivities. The mayor explains that the festival's most important event is the breaking of the big piñata, which is filled with all sorts of delicious treats.

Dora and Boots make their way to the piñata, which is hanging high in the air. The mayor explains the rules of the game. The first child to break the piñata open gets to keep the treats inside. The catch is that the children have to take turns, hitting the piñata blindfolded. Dora, being the adventurous and fearless explorer she is, volunteers to go first.

As Dora takes her swing at the piñata, she misses, much to the amusement of the other children. Undaunted, Dora tries again and gets a stronger swing this time. Her third swing finally breaks open the piñata, and all sorts of candy and toys come pouring out from inside.

Dora and Boots, along with the rest of the children, dive in to get their share of the loot. Amidst the commotion and excitement of the festival, Dora and Boots meet a young Mexican girl, Isabella, who has come to celebrate the festival with her family.

Isabella explains to Dora and Boots that her father is a baker who always makes special treats for the festival. However, this year, he has not been able to make it due to an injury, leaving the family without their traditional treats. Determined to help her new friend, Dora decides to embark on a mission to find the missing treats.

Together with Boots and Isabella, Dora navigates through the colorful town, encountering obstacles and challenges along the way. They navigate through a maze, a river and a forest, all the while facing obstacles and setbacks that test their limits.

Throughout the adventure, Dora and her friends learn about Mexican traditions, customs and family values. They work together, helping each other and showing the importance of friendship.

Ultimately, Dora and her team come through and return to the festival with Isabella’s father’s baked treats. The festival ends with everyone gathered together, happy and satisfied. The mayor thanks Dora for her help in making the Big Piñata Festival a success.
