Ep 1. Pilot

Eli Stone is a drama television series that premiered on ABC in 2008. The show follows the life of Eli Stone, a successful San Francisco lawyer, as he begins to experience unexplained visions after suffering a brain aneurysm. In the first episode titled "Pilot", we are introduced to Eli, his colleagues, friends, and ongoing cases.

Eli's visions begin to interfere with his job, causing him to act erratically in front of clients and opposing counsel. His coworkers are starting to notice that something is amiss, and when Eli begins to argue in favor of the plaintiffs instead of his client in court, everyone is taken aback.

Outside of work, Eli seeks medical help for his visions, but all tests come back normal. He starts seeing a neurologist, Dr. Chen, who confirms that the hallucinations are not caused by any physical abnormalities but may be related to his aneurysm. Meanwhile, Eli's brother Nathan, who works as a doctor, is also concerned about Eli's well-being. He encourages Eli to see a therapist, which Eli reluctantly agrees to.

In therapy, Eli meets Maggie, a life coach who offers to help him find the meaning behind his visions. Maggie encourages Eli to follow the signs, stating that they may lead him to his true purpose.

Throughout the episode, we also see flashbacks of Eli's past, particularly his relationship with his father, a successful lawyer who expected Eli to follow in his footsteps. After his father's death, Eli took over the family business, but he never truly felt fulfilled by it. The flashbacks offer insight into Eli's struggles and insecurities, highlighting his desire for something more in life.

Near the end of the episode, Eli has one final vision, and this time it's of a man warning him about an impending disaster. Eli is shaken by the vision and fears that it's a premonition. With no one else to turn to, he confides in Maggie, who suggests that he look into the case of a therapist named Dr. Chen who has been speaking out about a link between the chemicals in the lawsuit Eli is currently working on and the vision of the disaster that Eli just had.

The episode ends with Eli deciding to investigate Dr. Chen's claim further, setting up the premise for the rest of the season.
