Emergency Call is an American TV show that explores the high-pressure world of emergency call centres across the United States, giving viewers an inside look into the job of the first responders who answer the phone when people experience some of the most frightening moments of their lives.

Season 1 episode 6, titled "Texting Trouble", begins with a 911 operator from the Salt Lake City dispatch centre receiving a frantic call from a mother whose 8-year-old daughter is trapped in a car that has been hit by a semi-truck on the highway. The mother is close enough to the accident scene to see the wreckage but is unable to reach her daughter, who is stuck in the back seat. The 911 operator quickly dispatches emergency responders to the scene while trying to keep the mother calm and provide her with basic first aid instructions for her injured daughter.

Meanwhile, in Sacramento, a dispatcher receives a call from a distraught man who says that his wife is in labour but he is unable to drive her to the hospital because they are both deaf and do not have access to a sign language interpreter to communicate with emergency services. The dispatcher uses text messaging to communicate with the couple and is able to send a paramedic team with a sign language interpreter to help with the delivery of their baby.

In Tennessee, a woman calls 911 to report that her ex-husband has broken into her home and is threatening her with a gun. The dispatcher tries to keep her on the line while dispatching police to the scene, but the woman becomes increasingly anxious and eventually hangs up. The dispatcher is able to use the GPS locator on the phone to track down the woman's address and dispatch help to the scene, where the police are able to apprehend the suspect without incident.

As the episode progresses, viewers are given a glimpse into the sheer volume and diversity of calls that emergency responders receive on a daily basis. From medical emergencies and car accidents to domestic disputes and animal rescues, the 911 operators and dispatchers featured in Emergency Call are constantly required to act quickly and calmly in the face of high-stress situations.

Overall, "Texting Trouble" is a gripping episode of Emergency Call that highlights the important work of emergency responders and the crucial role played by dispatch centres across the United States. With its focus on real-life emergencies and the people who answer the calls for help, this show provides an insightful and eye-opening look into the world of emergency services.
