Ep 14. Since You've Been Gone

Since You've Been Gone is the fourteenth episode of the third season of Everwood. The episode starts with Andy giving a lecture at a conference in Denver. He's staying at a hotel, and while there, he runs into Nina. They ended their romantic relationship on a sour note, and this is their first time seeing each other since then. Nina tells Andy that she has moved on with her life, but Andy seems unsure about his own future.

Back in Everwood, Ephram meets with his college guidance counselor. He's worried about whether or not he'll get into Julliard, which is where he really wants to go. The counselor tells Ephram that his grades and test scores are impressive, but that Julliard is looking for more than just academic achievements. He suggests that Ephram should start practicing more so that he can make a strong audition tape.

Meanwhile, Amy is looking for a roommate to share her new apartment with. She's having a hard time finding someone who she thinks will be a good fit until Hannah suggests that they move in together. Amy is hesitant at first, but ultimately agrees.

Bright starts to feel left out when he sees that Hannah and Amy are becoming closer, especially since he's always had a crush on Hannah. He decides to take action and tells Hannah how he feels about her, but she tells him that she's not interested in him that way.

Elsewhere in Everwood, Harold is having a difficult time adjusting to his role as mayor. The town is having financial trouble, and he's being pressured to cut funding to the schools. This puts him at odds with Rose, who works at the school and is passionate about education. Harold struggles with making the right decision for the town, but ultimately decides to make the funding cuts. Rose is disappointed in him, but they manage to work through their differences.

Back in Denver, Andy is having a tough time sleeping. Nina comes to his hotel room to see if he needs anything, and they end up talking. Andy confesses that he's not sure if he made the right decision in breaking up with her. Nina tells him that she doesn't want to be with someone who isn't sure about their feelings, and leaves.

The episode ends with Ephram practicing his piano, Amy and Hannah moving in together, and Harold and Rose making up after their disagreement. Andy returns to Everwood, and although he's still unsure about his future, he knows that he wants to be with his family and friends.
