On the 1st of November, the 34th episode of season 66 of Face The Nation aired with concerned political discussion. Host Margaret Brennan began the episode by addressing the pressing issue of the upcoming presidential election. Given the potential for unrest and violence around election day, Brennan spoke with multiple political voices to get their take on the current situation.

The first guest on the show was Ronna McDaniel, a top Republican and the current chairwoman of the Republican National Committee. McDaniel expressed her concern for election security, encouraging all members of both parties to follow the rules and vote legally. She also spoke about the role of the RNC in supporting Republican candidates, as well as the importance of Michigan in the upcoming election. McDaniel further spoke about President Trump’s record on jobs and the economy.

Next up, the show welcomed Congresswoman Val Demings, a Democrat from Florida who was also considered a leading candidate for Biden’s running mate, who reflected on her experience as a member of law enforcement and provided an insight into the possible effects of race on election day. Demings reflected on her own experiences walking a beat in Orlando and talked about the need for reform in the police force. The Congresswoman also stated her concern about the President's baseless claims of election fraud and how it could influence electorates in various states, ultimately disturbing the credibility of the Presidential Election.

Scott Gottlieb also joined the show to discuss, from a public health perspective, the country’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Gottlieb shared his predictions for the next few months, as well as his analysis of the current US response. Gottlieb discussed the possible release of a vaccine, the importance of testing, and the potential for national lockdowns as COVID-19 cases continue to rise across the country. He also warned of complacency around the pandemic and the consequences that could have as we head towards the winter season.

Lastly, Jamal Simmons, a Democratic strategist and former adviser to Bill Clinton gave his take on the importance of African Americans to the election, the impact of mail-in ballots, and how the Republicans and Democrats had planned their campaigns around these. Simmons spoke out on Kamala Harris's campaign and highlighted the contribution of black women across America in the election process. As the most significant election in US history approaches, every vote will count. Simmons emphasized the need for everyone to exercise their right to vote.

Face The Nation saw guests with pure insights and remarkable perspectives on various dire current issues with the US.
