In the opening episode of the supernatural drama series, Falling Water, we're introduced to three strangers whose collective dreams are interwoven with one another. The trio, Tess, a successful artist; Taka, a determined NYPD detective, and Burton, an executive at a financial firm, are all brought together by a shared mysterious vision.

Tess Wyatt (Lizzie Brocheré), a talented painter, awakens from a deep sleep, disturbed by a recurring nightmare. In the dream, she is struggling to find her young son. The dream feels so real that she wakes up, frantic and in distress. In this dream, Tess appears to be surrounded by a burning house, and her only thought is to save her son.

At the same time, Taka (Will Yun Lee), a detective investigating the disappearance of a young girl, is having vivid dreams of his own. He dreams of a mysterious staircase that feels like an opulent hotel. However, when Taka reaches the top of the stairs, he discovers a dark and foreboding mass, which leads him to chase a sinister, masked figure.

Burton (David Ajala), a hardworking executive, also dreams of a luxurious and expensive white room that he holds as the embodiment of all his accomplishments. The room is filled with unusual objects that relate to his work, and the entrance to the room is protected by a two-dog-headed statue. Burton is searching to discover what his strange dreams are telling him.

Despite not knowing each other, Tess, Taka, and Burton all share a common dream of a girl, with a red ribbon in her hair. As the three strangers begin to connect with each other, they begin to understand that their dreams may hold some sort of cryptic connection.

As the episode progresses, the threesome slowly grasps the magnitude of the experiences that they are sharing. At the same time, they also begin to unravel the intricate web of lies and deceit that they have been living with.

During this process, Tess discovers that she's not the only one searching for her son. Taka, on the other hand, learns that his father, who he had a troubled relationship with, may have had an unexpected purpose for the staircase he has been dreaming about.

Meanwhile, it appears that Burton may have the most profound knowledge of the three's dreamscapes, with his experiences culminating in him getting the visions incorporated in an impressive work of art. Despite this, he can't shake the feeling that something vital is eluding him.

Throughout the episode, the three main characters are introduced to specialized 'dream therapists,' who can help them move into more profound, more probing levels of subconsciousness. As they participate in the therapy programs, the trio becomes increasingly drawn to discover the true meaning behind their interlinked dreams.

As they begin a journey to discover what they have in common, Tess, Taka, and Burton are also visited by strange occurrences happening around them. As they progress along their separate paths, the ever-increasing presence of the red-haired girl becomes more prevalent.

Will the three characters eventually be able to solve the mysteries behind their linked dreams and find out what it all means? It's not entirely clear. But, amidst all the confusion, one thing is clear - these three strangers are now inexorably intertwined in a quest for answers.
