Ep 5. Caddy Rust Bucket / Bel-Air Beauty Part 1

In Fast N' Loud season 4 episode 5, titled "Caddy Rust Bucket / Bel-Air Beauty Part 1," the Gas Monkey Garage crew is back with another challenging project – restoring a 1964 Cadillac Coupe Deville and a 1958 Chevy Bel-Air. The team is split into two groups to work on both cars simultaneously.

Richard Rawlings and Aaron Kaufman take on the Caddy rust bucket challenge, which was bought by Richard at an auction. The car is in a terrible condition, with rust and dents all over the body. The team assesses the damage and creates a plan to restore the car to its former glory, with several upgrades, including custom wheels and a new paint job. However, very soon, they realize that the car is beyond repair and needs a complete rebuild from scratch. Aaron creates a design to turn the Caddy into a rat rod, but Richard is not convinced and wants to keep the original style of the car intact.

Meanwhile, Tom Smith and Jordan Butler are assigned to restore the Bel-Air Beauty. The car was purchased in Texas and shipped to the garage in Dallas. The team finds that the car has some serious issues with the brakes, suspension, and engine. To make matters worse, it has been previously modified and the wiring is a mess. Despite these challenges, Tom and Jordan dive into the project headfirst and start by stripping the car down to its frame. They plan to replace the engine and transmission, redo the suspension, brakes and add new aftermarket parts such as custom exhaust and disc brakes.

As the two groups make progress on their respective cars, they encounter some issues that are common to classic cars. For instance, the Caddy's engine has rusted and seized, and there is trouble locating a replacement engine. Aaron and Richard go on a hunt for a new engine and come across a gem – a complete Cadillac engine with a 4-speed automatic transmission. They promptly buy the engine and transport it back to the garage.

However, the Bel-Air team is plagued with even more problems, as the wiring issues persist. Tom and Jordan try to troubleshoot the problem, but it proves to be too complicated, and they decide to bring in an electrician to help them out.

Overall, the episode is full of challenges and setbacks, but the Gas Monkey crew is determined to complete their projects on time. The episode ends on a cliffhanger as both the Caddy and the Bel-Air project are unfinished, leaving viewers eagerly anticipating Part 2.
