Final Life is a Japanese crime thriller drama series that originally premiered on Amazon Prime Video in 2017. The show is a production of Fuji TV and has received a lot of positive reviews and feedback from both viewers and critics. The series holds an interesting premise where two men team up to solve a series of murders linked to a mysterious drug called "Angel's Tear." One of the main characters is a detective named Tsutomu Madara, who can't remember the last three years of his life. The other protagonist is a man named Arata Mackenyu, who has a special ability to use his sensory memory to detect things that normal people can't.

The series starts with the murder of a young girl that is linked to the drug 'Angel's Tear'. Tsutomu tries to solve the case, but as he delves deeper and deeper into the case, he discovers that the Angel's Tear drug has a lot of powerful and dangerous people involved behind it. Meanwhile, Arata gets involved and brings in his unique abilities to help Tsutomu solve the crime. They soon realize that the case goes much deeper than they anticipated.

With excellent writing and impressive visuals, Final Life tackles some pretty heavy themes about life, death, and what it means to be human. The show is well-paced, and the suspense and intrigue keep the viewers hooked from the very start. The narrative is well-crafted, and there are several surprises and twists that leave the viewers guessing until the very end.

The major selling point of Final Life is the unique abilities of the two main characters. Tsutomu is a fantastic detective, but he can't recall the last few years of his life, which adds a personal element to the show. Arata, on the other hand, has an ability that is rare and enigmatic, making the viewers naturally intrigued about his character. The show handles this intriguing premise of how sensory memory works with great care.

The show also touches upon some of the darker sides of society, including corruption, greed, and organized crime. As the case unfolds, Tsutomu and Arata discover that these issues are more extensive and have pervaded the drug trade sector. The show doesn't shy away from how deep these issues lie and shows the dirty underbelly of organized crime.

Another thing that stands out about Final Life is the excellent directing and cinematography. The visuals are stunning and enhance the suspense and intrigue of the show. The camerawork is also exceptional, adding depth and visual interest. The place where the show takes place, which is Tokyo, is also captured beautifully, so viewers get a great sense of the environment where the characters inhabit.

Overall, Final Life is an exceptional crime thriller series that stands out among other shows in the genre. With its unique characters, fantastic writing, and intriguing visuals, it's no surprise that it has received rave reviews from audiences around the world. The show also has an excellent soundtrack that fits the tone of the show perfectly. The cast of actors also does a great job of portraying their characters with depth and realism, which adds to the emotional weight of the show.

In conclusion, Final Life is a must-watch for those who enjoy the crime thriller genre. It's an exciting and well-executed series with complex characters, intricate storylines, and stunning visuals that keep you invested from start to finish.
