Ep 3. Together Again

Ranging from friendship dynamics and classic ballet, to modern dance and intriguing twists - Find Me in Paris season 1, episode 3: Together Again, is a merry mix of plot elements.

With double the trouble now that Lena and Thea both time-traveled to 2018, getting back to 1905 becomes urgent for both of them. Since they need a key to the time portal, which is unfortunately guarded 24/7, the duo comes up with a plan to distract the guard by making him think that Lena is Gabrielle. Thea sets the scene with a classic ballet performance, showcasing her expertise in the art form. Although, mere seconds before the performance, Thea gets consumed by sprouts of self-doubt when she spots her ex-boyfriend in the audience. Her friendship with Lena is instrumental in helping her overcome her insecurities. And voila! They pull off their plan and steal the key without any hiccups.

Although getting to the time portal was smooth sailing, their next task becomes slightly more complicated. The duo needs to find a secret code to unlock the portal. After using their combined areas of expertise -- Thea with her instincts for deciphering patterns and mathematical mindsets, and Lena's familiarity with using futuristic gadgets, seemingly unfathomable to 1905 technology -- they ultimately land on the code. They open the portal, only to find themselves facing more complications than they bargained for.

What could go wrong, does go wrong. The duo gets caught by Henri and Georges, two men of wealth, who were present during the ballet show. Lena and Thea have no choice but to rely on their quick thinking and improvisation skills to keep their covers. In doing so, they tell Henri and Georges that they are distant cousins, just returned from Italy. Henri and Georges are intrigued and invite Lena and Thea to dine with them.

Thea is smitten by Henri, and things take an interesting turn when he asks her to dance with him after dinner. The two dancers showcase their skills, and their chemistry is undeniable yet short-lived. Lena interrupts the dancing duo before they can seal the deal, by kidnapping Thea in the name of time-travel. Thea and Henri's moment is one of the highlights of the episode, and sets the tone for a potential romance in the future.

Lena and Thea manage to return to their correct timelines, but there is a major twist when they arrive. Lena seems to have lost her gravity, and starts floating off the floor. Although this is a mystery in itself, it is not the greatest concern for Lena. Lena's time-travel device was damaged in the tussle, with her floating and she is faced with possible isolation from her world forever.

Episode 3 has action, dance sequences, but more importantly, it establishes the importance of Lena and Thea's friendship. It shows that their contrasting areas of expertise complement each other, and it also highlights that their trust in each other's abilities is the glue that keeps them together no matter what task they face.
