Jakub and Marcio start their adventure on the Rio Negro, a tributary of the Amazon River. Jakub explains that the water in this river is acidic and is a black color due to the presence of tannins, which are natural compounds that keep the water acidic and create a dark color. Jakub is amazed by the diversity of fish species here, but he wants to catch the gigantic fish in the Amazon, so he decides to move to another location.

Jakub heads towards a remote lake which is home to the mighty arapaima. To get there, they need to use a small boat and transit through a vast network of narrow channels. After several hours of navigating through the dense rainforest vegetation and clogged waterways, Jakub reaches their final destination. The lake is hidden deep in the jungle, and Jakub now has to strategize on how to catch the giant fish.

Jakub uses different techniques, such as lures, bait, and traps with great patience and skill to lure the arapaima out of hiding. Despite encountering a few setbacks along the way, Jakub continues to persevere and tries to read the behavior of the fish to increase his chances of a successful catch.

The tension mounts as the weather begins to turn against them, putting the safety of Jakub and his team in jeopardy. But the thrill of the chase keeps them going, and finally, Jakub gets a hit. The enormous fish takes the bait, and a fierce battle ensues. Jakub struggles to hold on to his rod as the fish moves powerfully through the water.
