Free! (English Dubbed) Season 1 Episode 4 Captive Butterfly!

Haruka Nanase, Rin Matsuoka, Nagisa Hazuki, and Makoto Tachibana head out to celebrate the fact that they have all finally been able to swim together once again. As they all sit down to enjoy a meal together, they are interrupted by a group of people performing a synchronized swimming routine in the pool nearby.

The group is made up of four girls who are part of the Iwatobi High School Swim Club, and they invite the boys to come and watch their upcoming competition. Rin, who is still harboring feelings of resentment towards Haruka, challenges the girls to a race in order to prove his superiority as a swimmer.

The group agrees to the challenge, and the boys spend the next few days training under the guidance of their coach, Goro Sasabe. With the help of Goro and their own determination, Haruka and the others are able to drastically improve their technique and stamina.

The day of the competition arrives, and the boys are amazed by the grace and beauty of the synchronized swimming routine. However, Rin remains focused on winning the upcoming race and proving himself to be the best.

As the race begins, Rin takes an early lead and seems to be pulling away from the others. However, Haruka refuses to give up and pushes himself beyond his limits in order to catch up to Rin. In the end, Haruka is able to outmaneuver Rin and win the race.

Despite his defeat, Rin seems to have gained a newfound respect for Haruka as a swimmer. The two of them exchange a few words before heading their separate ways, with Rin vowing to one day defeat Haruka.

The episode ends with the boys returning to the pool, ready to take on their next challenge and continue improving their skills as swimmers.
