Friends of the People is a sketch comedy show with a diverse cast. The cast manages to find comedy in different ways through on-the-street styled segments and scripted sketches as well. It is this combination of unscripted and scripted material that provides a unique platform that separates this from the traditional comedy sketch shows.

The cast spoofs television shows and creates sketches around politics and reality shows. A broad range of skits are created through the work of a cast that includes the Lucas Brothers and Kevin Barnett. The show also focuses on creating entertainment by spoofing various industry entertainers.
