Ep 10. A Leela of Her Own

Leela, the one-eyed mutant captain of the Planet Express Ship, finds herself in a personal and professional crisis when she discovers that she is the only female athlete in the universe's version of baseball and is drafted onto the worst team in the league, the New New York Mets. Initially thrilled at the chance to finally be taken seriously as an athlete, Leela soon finds that she is constantly overshadowed by her male teammates, who resent and belittle her, and is quickly demoted from pitcher to "mascot". Crushed by her failure and frustrated by the sexism she faces, Leela seeks out advice from her hero, former female baseball star Cyndi Lauper, who gives her a pep talk and helps her realize that the only way to succeed is to believe in herself and never give up. With newfound confidence, Leela returns to the team and leads them to a stunning victory, cementing her place as a trailblazer for female athletes everywhere. Meanwhile, Bender becomes obsessed with the idea of becoming a folk singer and writes a satirical song about his fellow Planet Express coworkers, infuriating them with his cruel and insulting lyrics. Ultimately, they confront him and make him realize that his actions were hurtful, prompting him to apologize and promise to use his talents for good instead of evil.
