Ep 3. Anthology of Interest II

In the third episode of the fourth season of Futurama, titled "Anthology of Interest II," the series' favorite trio - Fry, Bender, and Leela - return for another installment of their favorite What-If Machine.

As its name suggests, the What-If Machine's sole purpose is to offer the group a glimpse into alternate universes and scenarios that explore what could have been in an alternate reality. In this episode, the trio's curiosity gets the best of them, and they find themselves exploring three different scenarios - each of which is darker and more twisted than the one before.

In the first scenario, Bender becomes a giant robot which he relishes as he can now do whatever he wants, but as time goes on he starts to realize that his power comes with significant drawbacks. In the second scenario, Leela realizes her dream of meeting her parents years before they went missing only to find that time-traveling has brought her all sorts of unintended consequences. Finally, Fry becomes the CEO of a mega corporation, but getting to the top proves to be only half the battle.

The episode is a return to the show's classic anthology format, with each segment carrying its own unique story and tone. While some of the scenarios are darker and more somber than the typical episodes, the show's creators still manage to infuse each segment with the same humor and wit that makes Futurama so entertaining.

As always, the voice acting in the episode is superb. Billy West returns as Fry, delivering his lines with the same infectious enthusiasm that we've come to love over the years. John DiMaggio provides the voice for Bender, and his delivery of the character's sarcasm and snarkiness is as perfect as ever. And Katey Sagal brings her trademark blend of toughness and vulnerability to the character of Leela, making for a performance that hits all the right emotional notes.

Overall, "Anthology of Interest II" is a standout episode in the fourth season of Futurama. It's proof that even in its later years, the show was still capable of delivering the same level of quality and entertainment that made it a hit with fans in the first place.
