The Beast with a Billion Backs is a two-part episode of the animated science fiction show Futurama, and Part 4 is the final installment. It is an irreverent, often hilarious take on space travel, aliens, and the complexity of romantic relationships.
As Part 4 begins, the giant tentacled monster known as Yivo has successfully convinced the people of Earth to join with it in a massive group consciousness. One person who is having trouble adjusting to this new way of life is Fry, who has fallen in love with Yivo even as he feels uneasy about the prospect of losing his sense of self within the group mind.
Meanwhile, Bender and his girlfriend Colleen are trying to make their long-distance relationship work despite the fact that she lives on a distant planet. When Bender discovers that Colleen has been cheating on him, he decides to take revenge by kidnapping all of her species and keeping them in his own apartment.
Leela, always the practical one, tries to keep everyone focused on the task at hand: figuring out how to defeat Yivo and break the connection between Earth and the monster's massive brain. She enlists the help of the Globetrotters, a team of basketball-playing aliens who are also geniuses, to help her come up with a plan.
As the group begins to put their plan into action, Fry discovers a shocking truth about Yivo's true nature and must decide what to do with this knowledge. Meanwhile, Bender's actions threaten to jeopardize the entire mission, and Leela must rely on her quick thinking and resourcefulness to save the day.
Part 4 of The Beast with a Billion Backs is a wild ride, full of laugh-out-loud moments, unexpected twists, and memorable characters. It is a fitting conclusion to this bizarre, entertaining story arc that showcases all that makes Futurama such a beloved cult classic.
