- March 15, 2021
Ghost Hunters Classic season 11 episode 5, "Phantom of the First Course" follows the TAPS team as they investigate The Century House in Acushnet, Massachusetts. The Century House was built in 1677 and was once a mill, a tavern, and a private residence. Now, it serves as a restaurant and wedding venue.
The owner, Colin, has reported numerous sightings of a ghostly figure in the building. He believes the spirit may be that of a Revolutionary War soldier who once stayed at the house. He also believes that the ghost may be connected to a hidden room in the basement.
The team begins their investigation by splitting up into smaller groups. Kris and Steve head to the basement to search for the hidden room. They find a small, cramped space beneath the stairs, but it doesn't seem to have any significant activity. Meanwhile, Amy and Adam explore the dining room, where Colin has reported seeing the ghostly figure.
Amy and Adam set up their equipment and begin conducting an EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomenon) session. They ask questions and wait for any possible responses from the spirits. They don't hear any voices at first, but then they capture an EVP of a male voice saying, "I'm here." The team is excited to have captured evidence so early in the investigation.
As the night goes on, the team sets up more equipment throughout the building. They use thermal imaging cameras to search for cold spots and an EMF (Electromagnetic Field) reader to detect any changes in the electromagnetic field. They also set up a laser grid, which projects a grid of red dots onto the walls and floor. If anything interrupts the grid, it could indicate the presence of a spirit.
In another part of the building, Tango and Britt investigate the attic. They find some unusual objects, including a chair that appears to have been tied up with rope. They also discover that the attic space is connected to the adjacent building, which used to be a funeral home. Tango and Britt set up a camera and wait for any activity.
Suddenly, they hear a loud noise coming from the other side of the wall. They rush over to investigate and find that the noise came from a water pipe. While the noise wasn't caused by any paranormal activity, it highlights the importance of ruling out any natural explanations for strange noises or occurrences.
Back in the dining room, Amy and Adam continue their EVP session. They hear another male voice say, "I'm tired." The team believes this could be the Revolutionary War soldier that Colin has reported seeing. Later, they capture an EVP of what sounds like a woman saying, "I see you."
As the investigation comes to an end, the team gathers to share their findings. They present the EVPs they captured and discuss the possible explanations for the activity. They agree that while some of the occurrences could be explained naturally, others remain unexplained and may indeed be evidence of paranormal activity.
Overall, "Phantom of the First Course" is a thrilling episode that showcases the TAPS team's investigative skills as they search for evidence of ghosts in the historic Century House. Viewers will be on the edge of their seats as the team captures EVPs and sets up equipment in search of the elusive spirit of the Revolutionary War soldier.
