The Ghostbusters are called to investigate strange occurrences in a library that has an exhibit on Don Quixote. One of the staff members claims to have seen a ghost that resembles the famous literary character and is convinced that it is haunting the exhibit. Curious about the phenomenon, the Ghostbusters begin their investigation.
As it turns out, the ghost of Don Quixote is indeed haunting the exhibit. What's more, he mistakes the Ghostbusters for his knights and assumes that their proton packs are his lance and shield. He enlists the Ghostbusters' help in his quest to battle the dreaded giant, Dulcinea, who he believes has taken up residence in the library.
Unsure of what to do, the Ghostbusters team up with Don Quixote and take him on his quest. They encounter many obstacles along the way, including a group of ghosts who are trying to steal rare books from the library. However, with Don Quixote's guidance, the Ghostbusters are able to overcome these obstacles and reach their destination.
As it turns out, Dulcinea is not actually a giant, but a statue that has come to life due to a ghostly presence in the library. The Ghostbusters, with Don Quixote's help, are able to capture the ghost and restore order to the library. Don Quixote bids the Ghostbusters farewell, but not before imparting some words of wisdom about the importance of chivalry and defending the innocent.
