Ep 1. Females Only

In the season 3 premiere of Girls, entitled "Females Only", the four leading ladies are back and trying to figure out their lives. Hannah (Lena Dunham) has just been accepted into the prestigious Iowa Writers' Workshop and must come to terms with leaving New York City for the first time. Meanwhile, Marnie (Allison Williams) is dealing with a breakup from her boyfriend Charlie and her newfound single life. Jessa (Jemima Kirke) is fresh out of rehab and trying to stay sober while navigating her relationships with her friends. And Shoshanna (Zosia Mamet) is struggling to pick up the pieces after being dumped by her long-term boyfriend.

The episode starts with a hilarious scene in which Hannah and Adam (Adam Driver) are trying to have sex, but are constantly interrupted by the loud and obnoxious noises coming from their neighbors above. They decide to march up and confront the girls, only to find out that they are members of a radical feminist group who believe in a world without men.

This encounter with the feminist group sets the tone for the rest of the episode, as each of the girls deals with their own personal struggles with relationships and their own sense of empowerment. Hannah's decision to attend the Iowa Writers' Workshop sets off a chain reaction of events, including a falling out with her best friend Marnie, who is upset that Hannah is leaving her behind.

Meanwhile, Jessa is struggling to stay sober and is drawn to a fellow AA member, while Shoshanna is trying to reinvent herself in the aftermath of her breakup. Marnie, in a desperate attempt to move on from Charlie, decides to host a "women only" party at her apartment, which brings together all of the girls and ends in disaster.

As always, Girls is a show that doesn't shy away from raw and honest depictions of young women trying to make their way in the world. In "Females Only", we see the characters face the challenges of growing up, finding themselves, and navigating messy relationships, all while trying to figure out what it means to be a woman in today's world. With its sharp writing, great performances, and unflinching look at the realities of life, Girls is a show that continues to captivate viewers and earn critical acclaim.
