In order to help with the work on the smallholding, The Goods take in a student couple for a week. The young couple rapidly becomes infatuated with the Goods and their way of life. When they decide to buy the other house next door to start a plot with similar aims, Margo becomes incensed, and both she and her husband have panicky visions of a commune.
