Jane decides to take her love for the holidays to the next level by coordinating the Christmas party for the building, and she enlists Brad's help to make sure she doesn't lose her mind in the process. Meanwhile, Max seeks to undermine Jane's party by throwing a competing "non-denominational" holiday party, where he also hopes to stage an epic comeback to finally snag the title of Mr. Super Gay Chicago. Elsewhere, Dave turns to Penny for help when his father arrives unexpectedly and gives him the ultimate guilt trip. And Alex tags along on an "artistic retreat" as she tries to come up with a new business idea, but ends up finding inspiration in another way.
