Ep 11. Lovers' Quarrel

Harley Quinn season 2 episode 11 titled "Lovers' Quarrel" follows up after the events of the previous episode, "Inner (Para) Demons", where Harley finally names the Legion of Doom as her arch-nemesis. In this episode, Harley feels dejected and alone as her gang goes on to prosper without her. She is depressed and alone in her lair, watching a newscast about the Joker's escape from Arkham Asylum. She is surprised and angry that Batman allowed the Joker to escape, but she decides she needs someone for company. Harley calls up Poison Ivy, her best friend and former girlfriend, to have a drink and catch up.

The episode quickly turns into a flashback montage where the audience sees Ivy move on with her life without Harley. She gets a new girlfriend, Kite Man, who proposes to her, and the two plan their wedding. We also see them attending couples therapy with Clayface, who is filling in as a therapist after their regular therapist decided they no longer needed psychological help.

Meanwhile, Harley tries to find another crew to join, but they all reject her for being too known to try and join forces with. Harley tries to confront Ivy about being left out, but Ivy doesn't see the problem. This makes Harley more upset, and she leaves.

Back in the present, the two finally meet up for a drink. There are a few awkward moments between the two, but they soon get over it and start catching up. Through the conversation, Ivy starts to feel Harley out to determine whether there's still a spark between them. Harley is excited to hear Ivy's voice and begs Ivy to come see her perform a new stage routine. Ivy, feeling pressured, agrees to go support Harley.

The next day, Ivy shows up for the show, but the audience is not interested in her and loudly heckle her the entire time. This makes Ivy feel even more dejected. Harley tries to cheer her up, saying that they can still be friends and that she will always be there for Ivy.

The focus shifts to Kite Man, who is second-guessing his upcoming wedding since he has doubts about himself and his relationship with Ivy. Clayface, being the good therapist he is, tries to help Kite Man, but Kite Man is too distracted to listen. He decides to run off and have a bachelor party instead.

Later that day, Poison Ivy comes to terms with her feelings towards Harley and decides to tell her. She is hesitant at first, but when Harley invites her for a fight with the Joker at a chemical plant, Ivy goes to join her. At the chemical plant, they find the Joker waiting for them, and they all engage in a three-way brawl.

In the end, Harley realizes she is over the Joker and has truly found her own arch-nemesis in the Legion of Doom. The two best friends then realize that they are still in love with each other, and share a tender moment, but Harley is too afraid to act on it. They agree to put their feelings aside and focus on their friendship for now. Ivy also tries to reach out to Kite Man, but he is not ready to talk yet.

The episode ends with Ivy visiting Harley, proclaiming that she is her "ride or die chick". Harley is overwhelmed with emotion, and they hug, cementing their friendship more than ever.

Overall, "Lovers' Quarrel" is a great mid-season episode that focuses on the relationships between the characters. The episode is full of humor, action, and emotion, and it's a great watch for those following the series.
