In season 9 episode 3 of History Detectives, entitled "John Brown Spear, US Bullet in Siberia & Ronald McDonald Suit," the team of investigators delve into three different historical mysteries.

The first mystery involves a spear that is believed to have been carried by abolitionist John Brown during his raid on Harper's Ferry in 1859. The spear was discovered in the basement of a church in upstate New York and passed down through generations of the family that owned it. The History Detectives team examines the spear carefully, searching for any clues that might connect it to John Brown and his famous raid. Through interviews with Brown's descendants and experts on the raid, the investigators piece together a compelling story of how the spear might have come into Brown's possession and what role it may have played in the raid.

The second mystery involves a bullet that was found in a remote area of Siberia by a group of Russian scientists. The bullet was later identified as having been manufactured in the United States in the early 1900s. But how did an American bullet end up in the middle of Siberia? The History Detectives team travels to Russia to investigate the mystery, examining historical documents and interviewing locals who may have had some connection to the bullet. Along the way, they uncover some surprising connections between early 20th-century America and Siberia.

The third and final mystery involves a Ronald McDonald suit that was inherited by a woman from her father, who had worked for McDonald's in the 1970s. The suit had been stored away for many years, but the woman was curious about its history and asked the History Detectives to investigate. The team examines the suit carefully, looking for any clues that might reveal its age and origins. Through interviews with former McDonald's employees and experts on corporate branding, the investigators uncover a fascinating history of how the Ronald McDonald character was developed and how the suits were first used in the company's advertising campaigns.

Throughout the episode, the History Detectives team uses a variety of methods and techniques to uncover the secrets behind each of these historical mysteries. Whether they are examining historical documents, conducting interviews, or analyzing physical evidence, they are always on the hunt for clues that will help them solve the puzzle. With each mystery they solve, they shine a light on a different aspect of history, revealing the fascinating stories that lie behind the objects we encounter every day.
