Watch Mapp and Lucia

The classic British television based on E. F. Benson's 1930s hilariously scathing satiric novels on upper-middle class English country life, the gloriously funny social adventures of Mapp and Lucia are sure to please. Set in the fictitious town of Tilling (based on and shot in Benson's own town of Rye) it is one mortifying social gaff after another as Mrs. Lucas (Lucia played by Geraldine McEwan) flanked by her loyal Georgie (Nigel Hawthorne) are pitted against the determined but inferior Miss Mapp (Prunella Scales) and her unenthusiastic would-be boyfriend Major Benjy (Denis Lill). Lavish and witty, the snobbery never stops.
