Ep 12. Benefits

In season 4 episode 12 of How I Met Your Mother, titled "Benefits," the gang is back to their old shenanigans with friends with benefits. After Ted and Robin experiment with hooking up without a relationship, they decide to create a list of rules to keep their friendship from being ruined. However, as expected, emotions get in the way and the lines between their friendship become blurred.

Meanwhile, Barney is determined to show Marshall how to live his life as a single man. He takes him on various adventures, including a game of laser tag and a strip club, all in an effort to show him the benefits of being single. While it may seem like Barney has all the answers, Marshall realizes he doesn't want to be a womanizer like his friend.

As the episode progresses, Ted and Robin's arrangement becomes more complicated when they both start to develop feelings for each other. While they try to resist these feelings, it becomes obvious that their friendship has turned into something more. Eventually, they realize that their relationship just can't go back to being friends with benefits.

In the end, Ted and Robin decide to end their arrangement and focus on being friends. Barney, inspired by Marshall's newfound happiness, decides to give up his womanizing ways and embrace a new life of monogamy. As always, How I Met Your Mother delivers its unique brand of humor and heartfelt moments in this episode.
