Ep 20. Bonus Bucks

Lucy Ricardo is at it again in season 3 episode 20 of I Love Lucy, aptly titled "Bonus Bucks." The episode begins with Lucy getting fed up with her small weekly allowance from husband Ricky. She complains that it's not enough to satisfy her needs, as she wants to splurge on new clothes and accessories. Ricky, who's saving up for a new addition to their home, is not willing to give Lucy more money.

Desperate to make some extra cash, Lucy devises a plan to win a contest at the local grocery store where the grand prize is $1500 in bonus bucks. She convinces her best friend Ethel to enter the contest with her, and together they prepare for the challenge, complete with matching dresses and a song they've written to sing for the judges.

Things go awry when they arrive at the grocery store and find their main competitor is a boy scout troop with a catchy tune of their own. Lucy and Ethel decide they need to step up their game if they want to win the prize money.

In true Lucy fashion, she comes up with a hilarious scheme to sabotage the boy scouts' performance. The plan seems foolproof until it backfires, and Lucy and Ethel end up getting disqualified from the contest.

Determined not to come home empty-handed, Lucy convinces Ethel to join her in a shoplifting spree in the grocery store. The two women stuff their pockets with candy, produce, and even a live lobster before they're caught by the store manager.

The episode ends with Lucy and Ethel behind bars, trying to come up with a plan to get out of trouble.

"I Love Lucy" season 3 episode 20 is a classic example of Lucy's scheming ways and shows just how far she'll go to get what she wants. It's a lighthearted and entertaining episode that's sure to have viewers laughing out loud.
