The Demi-chans’ Summer Break is the final episode of Interviews with Monster Girls season 1. As the summer break arrives, the Demi-humans make plans on how they will spend their time off from school. While Hikari, Yuki, Machi, and Kusakabe-sensei plan to relax and have fun, Takahashi-sensei decides to spend his break researching about Demi-humans.
Hikari, after finding out that Takahashi won’t be around much during the break, decides to move into his house. With the help of her family, they set up camp in his living room and the two of them begin living together. Yuki also decides to visit her cousin in the countryside and is encouraged by her friends to enjoy her time there. While on the train to her cousin’s village, she meets a businessman who takes an interest in her abilities as a snow woman.
Machi, on the other hand, has no plans for the summer break until Kusakabe-sensei invites her to a ropes course. Despite her fear of heights, Machi accepts the invitation and eventually overcomes her fear while bonding with Kusakabe-sensei. Finally, Kusakabe-sensei herself spends her summer break preparing for a lecture on Demi-humans. She also spends some time with the girls and shares some words of wisdom with them.
As the break comes to an end, all the Demi-humans make an effort to show their appreciation to Takahashi-sensei for his support and guidance. Hikari and Yuki make him a bento on his first day back to work, while Machi writes a thank you note. Kusakabe-sensei surprises Takahashi-sensei with a summer souvenir as well as a heartfelt speech acknowledging the impact he has had on the lives of the Demi-humans.
The Demi-chans’ Summer Break is a heartwarming conclusion to the first season of Interviews with Monster Girls. The episode focuses on the characters’ personal growth and their relationships with Takahashi-sensei. Viewers will see how the Demi-humans have come to trust and rely on their teacher, and how Takahashi has been able to support them in their unique situations.
