My Friend Will Bee Right Back / Learning to Fly is the fifth episode of the first season of the children's show It's a Big, Big World. The show is set in the rainforest of South America and revolves around the lives of a group of animals who live there.
In the first half of the episode, My Friend Will Bee Right Back, the animals are excitedly awaiting the arrival of their friend Will Bee, a bee who visits the rainforest every year. However, as they wait, they become concerned when they see that the flowers, which provide food for Will, are not blooming as they should be. Snook the sloth, who is a wise elder in the group, suggests that they sing to the flowers to encourage them to bloom. Together, the animals sing a beautiful song to the flowers, and soon they begin to bloom.
Just as the flowers begin to bloom, Will Bee arrives. He is overjoyed to see his friends and tells them how much he missed them. He also thanks them for singing to the flowers and helping them to bloom. The animals then share a meal with Will, consisting of nectar and honey, and catch up on all the news from the past year.
In the second half of the episode, Learning to Fly, Madge the turtle shares her dream of flying with her friends. She feels that as the only member of the group who cannot fly, she is missing out on something special. However, the other animals are quick to reassure her that she is just as important as they are, even if she cannot fly.
Despite their reassurances, Madge is determined to learn to fly. The animals decide to help her by creating a makeshift airplane using branches and leaves. They also enlist the help of the bats who live in the nearby cave, who are experts at flying.
With the bats' guidance, Madge begins to learn how to fly. At first, she struggles to stay in the air, but with practice, she gradually becomes more confident. The other animals cheer her on as she flies further and further, until she is eventually able to fly all the way to the top of a nearby tree.
As the episode comes to a close, the animals reflect on their day of helping Madge learn to fly. They realize that even though they may each have different abilities, they are all valuable members of their community and can work together to achieve great things.
