In the JAG season 4 episode 2 entitled Embassy, the story begins with a Marine sergeant being murdered outside the American embassy in Jakarta, Indonesia. The investigation takes a turn when the driver of the murder vehicle claims to have acted in self-defense as the Marine sergeant had attacked him first. As the story unfolds, it becomes clear that the Marine sergeant was part of a CIA mission and was transporting a crucial witness in a drug smuggling case.

The CIA agent in charge of the mission, Sarah MacKenzie, arrives in Jakarta to take over the investigation. She is accompanied by Lt. Colonel Sarah 'Mac' MacKenzie, who is tasked with proving the innocence of the Marine driver while also piecing together what happened to the witness he was supposed to transport. Mac finds herself caught in the middle of the CIA's covert activities and the Indonesian government's efforts to maintain sovereignty over their own territory.

As the case progresses, Mac finds herself drawn closer to the Marine driver, who is revealed to have a tragic history that has left him with a deep distrust of authority figures. Mac employs her skills as a lawyer to defend the driver and unravel the web of conspiracy that surrounds the case.

Meanwhile, Commander Harmon 'Harm' Rabb is called to Washington D.C., where he is tasked with apprehending an elusive terrorist who has been targeting American military personnel. Harm's investigation leads him on a wild chase across the city as he races against time to prevent the terrorist from striking again.

Back in Jakarta, Mac discovers a shocking truth about the witness in the drug smuggling case, and a twist in the story leads her to make a difficult decision. As the case comes to a close, Mac and the Marine driver are left to deal with the fallout of their decisions, while Harm returns to Jakarta to tie up loose ends in his own investigation.

The episode is a gripping thriller that explores the complex issues of geopolitics and national security in the context of the War on Terror. The story is brought to life by the strong performances of the cast, particularly Catherine Bell and David James Elliott, who deliver nuanced and compelling portrayals of the two Sarahs. Overall, Embassy is a standout episode that showcases the strengths of JAG as a series that tackles tough issues with intelligence and heart.
