Ep 1. If Only I Had Thorns Like a Thistle...

In the first episode of Kill la Kill season 1, titled "If Only I Had Thorns Like a Thistle....", we are introduced to our protagonist, Ryuko Matoi. Ryuko is on a mission to track down the person who killed her father, and her search has led her to a prestigious high school known as Honnouji Academy. Ryuko is immediately confronted by the student council president, Satsuki Kiryuin, who rules over the school with an iron fist.

Satsuki informs Ryuko that the school is divided into four social hierarchies, with the most powerful students being granted a special uniform known as a Goku Uniform. These uniforms are made from a special material called Life Fibers, which grant the wearer superhuman abilities. Satsuki challenges Ryuko to a fight, and reveals that she too possesses a special uniform, which she refers to as Kamui.

Ryuko is initially overpowered by Satsuki, but she manages to tap into a hidden power within her own uniform, which she received from her father. This power causes her uniform to transform into a powerful form known as Senketsu. Senketsu grants Ryuko incredible strength, speed, and agility, but it also has a mind of its own and demands that Ryuko feeds it with her own blood in order to remain active.

After defeating Satsuki, Ryuko is introduced to the Mankanshoku family, who take her in and offer her a place to stay. They also help Ryuko enroll in Honnouji Academy, where she hopes to discover more about the person who killed her father.

Throughout the episode, we are also introduced to a number of other characters, including the Elite Four, a group of students who serve as Satsuki's loyal enforcers. We also meet Nonon Jakuzure, a member of the Elite Four who is exceptionally skilled with music. Nonon challenges Ryuko to a fight, but is forced to retreat after Ryuko's power proves too much for her to handle.

Overall, the first episode of Kill la Kill sets the stage for an action-packed and bizarre story, full of over-the-top characters and dramatic battles. The episode establishes the basic premise of the show, including the special uniforms and the power dynamics between the students at Honnouji Academy. It also introduces us to Ryuko, a fierce and determined fighter who will stop at nothing to avenge her father's death.
