Kite Liberator is an animated Japanese movie produced by Media Blasters in 2007. The movie is a continuation of the storyline of the original Kite anime, directed by Yasuomi Umetsu. The film features a new protagonist, a high school girl named Monaka Noguchi, who happens to be the daughter of the original protagonist.

The movie takes place in a futuristic, crime-ridden city, where a mysterious entity called "Angel of Death" is killing people. This entity, as revealed later in the movie, is a powerful and lethal robot designed by a powerful and corrupt corporation. Monaka becomes involved in the conflict when she inadvertently comes across the Angel of Death and witnesses its destructive power.

Monaka's life changes completely after her encounter with the Angel of Death. She discovers that her father, who was murdered years ago, was a former partner of the original Kite protagonist, Sawa. Monaka is then given a gun designed by her father, which she uses to fight crime as the new Kite. She vows to take down the Angel of Death and bring peace to her city. She is soon joined by her friend, a fellow high school student named Manatsu Mukai, who becomes her material support and emotional support throughout the mission.

The movie focuses on Monaka's character development as she struggles to balance her school life, her newfound role as a vigilante, and her personal life. She is shown to be a determined and brave character, yet also compassionate and empathetic. The movie also explores the relationship between Monaka and Manatsu, as they both grow closer as friends and accomplices in their mission. Their interactions provide a refreshing element of humor and lightheartedness to the otherwise serious and dark theme of the movie.

The movie has impressive animation and action sequences, featuring high-speed chases, intense gunfights, and explosive battles. The soundtrack, composed by Tomohisa Ishikawa, adds to the intensity and emotional depth of the movie. The voice acting by the original Japanese cast is also noteworthy, particularly the performances of Marina Inoue as Monaka and Akemi Okamura as Manatsu.

Kite Liberator is a dark and gritty science fiction movie that offers a blend of action, drama, and suspense. It is not recommended for younger audiences due to its violent and mature themes. The movie is a must-watch for fans of the original Kite anime, as well as those who enjoy science fiction and action movies. Overall, Kite Liberator is a thrilling and engaging movie that satisfies both the mind and the senses.
