It is believed that Kyoto, Japan is the center of the universe. However, this is not a physical center but a spiritual one. There exists a world where the spirits of humans and animals coexist with gods and demons. This world, referred to as The Mirror Capital, is ruled by three siblings: Koto, A and Un. Koto is the youngest and most mischievous of the siblings. She has the ability to travel between worlds using a cane that she has had since she was a child.

The episode opens with Koto standing on a train platform. She is excited and energetic, and her eyes are filled with joy as she waits for the train to arrive. When the train finally arrives, she jumps on it and begins to explore it, much to the annoyance of the other passengers. One of the passengers, a young girl, takes an interest in Koto and follows her around the train. Koto shows the girl her cane, which she refers to as "Mr. Frog," and explains that it is a special cane that allows her to travel between worlds.

After Koto leaves the train, she finds herself in a strange new world. She explores it for a while, seeming to enjoy herself, before she comes across a group of children who are attacking a man. Koto decides to intervene, and she uses her cane to transport the man and herself to a different location. The man is grateful and introduces himself as Myoue, an artist who paints pictures of a world that he has never seen.

Myoue tells Koto that he has been looking for a way to enter the Mirror Capital, and Koto offers to take him there. Myoue accepts, and Koto uses her cane to transport them both to the Mirror Capital. Once they arrive, Koto introduces Myoue to her siblings, A and Un. A seems indifferent to Myoue, but Un takes an interest in him and starts to tease him.

Koto then takes Myoue to a temple where he can paint. While he is there, Koto tells him about her childhood and how she ended up with Mr. Frog. Myoue tells Koto about his past as well, including his relationship with Lady Koto, a woman who was believed to be Koto's mother.

As the episode comes to a close, Myoue continues to paint in the temple as Koto watches. Koto suddenly disappears, leaving Myoue alone in the temple. He then hears a voice that sounds like Koto's, and he realizes that he is not alone. The episode ends with a shot of a mysterious figure standing outside the temple, looking in.

Thus Spake Koto, Our Protagonist is an engaging and visually stunning introduction to the world of Kyousougiga. The episode does an excellent job of introducing the main characters and the concept of the Mirror Capital in a way that is both entertaining and informative. The animation is colorful and dynamic, and the characters are quirky and likable. Overall, it is a fantastic start to what promises to be an exciting and engaging series.
