Record of Ragnarok is an action-packed anime series released on Netflix in 2021. The show follows a fictional storyline that sees the gods of various mythologies gathering to decide whether humanity deserves to exist anymore. The gods, enraged by the destruction caused by humans across various eras, decide to hold a tournament called Ragnarok. Ragnarok will pit 13 of the most powerful gods from different mythologies against 13 humans of their choosing to determine the fate of humanity.

The show's protagonist is a Japanese swordsmanship master named Takuma Sakamoto, who is selected by the Valkyrie Brunhilde to fight for the human race. Takuma is not just any ordinary warrior, though. He's a video game enthusiast who spends most of his time playing games and is killed in a gaming competition. Brunhilde convinces the other Valkyries and gods that Takuma is humanity's last hope for survival by showcasing his impressive battle skills and potential.

Each episode of Record of Ragnarok provides the viewer with a variety of battles, demonstrating the power and skills of different gods and warriors. The battles are highly dynamic, with every move being carefully planned and analyzed. The show also boasts a diverse range of mythical creatures and magical abilities, giving it a unique flair.

Some of the gods featured on the show include Odin, Zeus, Poseidon, Buddha, Shiva, Anubis, and more. Each god comes with unique abilities and characteristics based on their mythological origins. Additionally, every warrior selected to represent humanity has a distinctive backstory, making it easy for viewers to connect with their experiences.

The show's animation style is captivating, blending traditional anime-style with 3D character models, smoothly shifting between both formats during different fight sequences. The quality of animation and attention to detail are impressive, with motion blur and shadows meticulously crafted to give a sense of depth.

One of the unique aspects of the show is its balance between intense fight sequences and lighthearted comedic moments. The humor is smart and on-point, which does not go overboard and provides some respite from the high-stakes battles.

The voice acting on the show is another outstanding aspect, featuring a talented cast. Kellen Goff voices Takuma Sakamoto, and Tomoyo Kurosawa voices Brunhilde. Other notable voice actors include Miyuki Sawashiro, Tomokazu Seki, and Kazuhiro Yamaji.

Record of Ragnarok is an engrossing anime series filled with action and drama, providing a fresh and exciting take on mythological gods and heroes.
