As they descend the tree with the orb in hand, they are ambushed by Lady Koto's servants who believe them to be enemies.

In the ensuing battle, Shouko is injured and their progress is hindered. However, Yakushimaru is able to activate the memory storage device and relive a memory of Lady Koto. Through this memory, they discover the location of Lady Koto's palace and continue their journey towards it.

During their journey, the group is faced with several obstacles, including the appearance of another strange creature known as a "dragonfly." However, they are able to overcome these obstacles and eventually arrive at Lady Koto's palace.

Once there, they are met with a surprise as they discover that Lady Koto has been turned into a painting. The siblings are devastated by this revelation but are determined to find a way to restore their mother. Meanwhile, Shouko confronts Lady Koto's husband, Myoue, and demands answers about Lady Koto's fate.

In the final moments of the episode, Shouko is seen sitting alone in a room with a black and white photograph. The photo depicts Lady Koto, Myoue, and a young Yakushimaru, and it is revealed that Shouko was once a part of their family as well.
