Ep 18. Spellbound

Detectives Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay) and Amanda Rollins (Kelli Giddish) investigate a particularly disturbing case involving a young girl named Hannah who has been sexually assaulted by a man whom she says has magical powers. The man, Lucas Biggs (guest star Louis Cancelmi), is a self-proclaimed magician who has apparently used his abilities to circumvent Hannah's ability to resist him.

As the detectives dig deeper into Hannah's claims, they find that Lucas is a respected member of his community and a member of a local magic club. They soon come to realize that Lucas' hold over Hannah may be the result of something more sinister than mere illusion.

As the investigation heats up, Benson and Rollins are both forced to confront their own inner demons. Benson's past abuse at the hands of her grandfather comes into sharp focus as she tries to help Hannah find justice, while Rollins is forced to confront her own alcohol addiction.

Meanwhile, the District Attorney's office begins to build their case against Lucas. But when a key witness comes forward with unexpected information, the case takes a shocking turn and the detectives may find themselves battling the very real specter of the paranormal.

As the clock ticks down and the stakes get higher, Benson and Rollins must bring all their skills to bear in order to catch a predator whose ability to manipulate minds and bodies seems all too real. Will they be able to bring Lucas to justice, or will he escape their grasp and continue to prey on the vulnerable?
